Paul Coulombe receives the Governor’s Award for Tourism Excellence
Paul Coulombe honored by Maine Office of Tourism
Paul Coulombe was honored by the Maine Office of Tourism with the 2023 Governor’s Award for Tourism Excellence.
In presenting the award, Governor Mills said,
“Paul Coulombe is a U Maine grad, born and raised in Lewiston. As a successful businessman, he could have retired and ridden off in the sunset. But instead, he chose to invest in his home state – from a country club and sports complex in Boothbay to broader economic development in the mid-coast to an important expansion of the Maine Medical Center, his generosity and compassion are boundless.
We applaud his contributions to tourism and to the economy of our great state.”
Paul Coulombe said of the tourism excellence award,
“I was truly honored to receive the Governor’s Award for Tourism Excellence. Tourism is an important economic driver for our rural region. The tourism industry provides good jobs and supports our local economy.
The Boothbay region is a very special place that first captured my heart when I was a young boy growing up in Lewiston. I have very fond childhood memories of visiting Boothbay Harbor with my family. We would splurge and get a lobster roll, watch the lobster boats and sailboats go by, and enjoy the beautiful scenic views. I fell in love with the area.
Attracting visitors to the Boothbay peninsula supports our local fishermen, retailers, bed & breakfasts, and restaurants. I invest in the region because I want to see the region and the locally-owned small businesses thrive and prosper.
